Remington 1100 Serial Numbers On Receiver
Receiver serial number starts with 'L833 ' which, based on other serial numbers I have come across, also seems to point to a 1973 build date. I'm assuming that this is a 'standard' 20 gauge 1100, so it will not take an LT barrel. Thanks for your help! For models without a serial number, we may be able to determine the age by the 2-3 letters that are stamped on the barrel. Using these barrel codes to date a shotgun is somewhat unreliable, as shotgun barrels are often interchanged at random. One needs to be sure that the barrel is original to the gun before trusting the Barrel Code listing, above. (*) On 8/9/99, stopped stamping the barrels with the date code. They continued to mark the date code on the end flap of the shipping box. They resumed stamping the date code on the barrel on 10/1/01. Also http://oldguns.net/sn_php/remdates.php |
